If you haven't seen and heard "Time For Miracles" on You Tube you should. I've got $3.00 down and holding the CD for me at the song store here in my town. Along with a lot of other people. Hey ya, after MJ’s death, people were talking about pain-relief drugs a lot. I still feel like to share my experience of pain-relief treatment with anyone who likes to share with. Also I’d like to share something else of personal daily life experience that may be useful to people as well, which all those I was trying to say a few months ago but it doesn’t mean to offend anybody.
sophielMost people rely on medicine to relieve pain because it is a quick way to stop the pain and even better if it can cure it. But often pain-relief drugs are harmful and only temporary relieve the pain. So, that is why I am like some people that have tried a different way of treatment – acupuncture.
Once before my right arm was very painful that made me even couldn’t put on my clothes(that was a very serious issue) or hold a pen. I had some prescribed pain-relief medicine (forgot what was the name of the drug) to take. But I only took it twice then threw away the whole bottle of the tablets because they upset my stomach, and also because when I stopped taking the drug the pain came back. Then I tried some other different treatments that included an injection (I don’t know how to say the name of it in English) which stopped the pain for a while, but after a few months, the pain came back again. Finally I tried acupuncture treatment that finally fixed my long time painful arm. Also once I sat in front of my computer to do my assignments for a whole night, then my left arm became very painful and couldn’t put on my clothes just like my right one. This time I didn’t muck around but went straight away to see my acupuncture doctor and only had once to fix it.
I’m sure many people have as similar long time pain experience as me but most people don’t try acupuncture for many different reasons. I guess reason one is people don’t like needles. Actually an acupuncture needle is very thin and soft. It is not as same as a normal needle, so you won’t feel very pain when it gets into your muscle. Reason two is changing a direction is always difficult. When we are used to take tablets we won’t think about other methods of a treatment. Even I, as a Chinese, I never thought about acupuncture before and had my first one in NZ. Reason three is maybe some people tried acupuncture but it didn’t work. I would say you got to find the right acupuncture doctor. If someone is not for you it does not always mean he/she is not for others. When I first time had my acupuncture treatment for my arm I tried 2 doctors, then I could compare which one was better for me. Normally after first or second acupuncture treatment if you can feel better, even very little, the doctor is for you, so need to try and change until you find the right one. By the way, the best result you can have is after having the acupuncture, following by a massage on/around the pain spot.
The second thing I want to talk is teeth whitening. Many years ago I spent some money on whitening my teeth but no improvement at all. Then couple of years ago, I again asked another dentist about whitening my teeth. The dentist didn’t think and said to me that my teeth could not be whitened because of its natural colour (That means it is not because of drinking tea or coffee etc.) and she didn’t recommend anything else to me though I was hoping for. I believe what she said very much. I guess if I want to have very beautiful white teeth I probably have to lose all my healthy real ones which I do not think I would like to. So I didn’t ask any further questions and that sounded like the end of the story for me for whitening teeth.
The third thing I want to talk is make-up. When we were young our skin would not feel dry with/without make-up, even after our skin exposed to the sun for long hours. But when we get older and we don’t have make-up, then our skin will get even drier. Somebody once said to me that make-up would damage skin and get skin very dry because of chemical stuff in products (Probably need to use right products, I don’t mean use the expensive ones but the right ones for different skin types). Also because of somebody else at that time liked my natural look without make-up, I put my face in a test that I didn’t have make-up for a month or so, but only simple used some moisture cream twice a day. I found my face skin got even drier every night after washing my face, but with make-up on the face every morning, the skin was always in moisture condition after washing the face. I’m not good at those things but at least I can tell which way is better after a test.
The last thing I want to say is for those who appear to put weight on (my Mum used to be the one) don’t have to care about your appearance as long as you yourself feel good. But we all know it is more risks to have health issues that health professionals have worried about.
