This post is not meant to be negative towards Lil at all. One of Lil's best performances was in her audition. Even Simon eluded to that. Most people think carefully about picking a song that suits their voice when they audition and they do this without the judges' input. Lil made a great choice then and has since been having problems... which seems to have grown more each week. Tuesday night (after Simon's critique) and last night, Lil showed her frustration about the criticism the judges have been giving her. I believe Lil needs to "start over". She might be best suited to forget the judges and go back to her audition... and come up with a songs like she did then. I think most of us can see that the judges sometimes contradict themselves in their comments... sometimes even on the same night. Even in one of her video packages, Lil talked about how much thought she put into her song choice (which they still didn't like). Lil needs to get back to herself... be herself and believe in herself. She needs to toss out what the judges have said and just be true to herself instead of trying to apply all of the judges' contradictory "advice". If she did this, I think she would seem more natural on the stage, sound more comfortable, be more believable, and her performance would improve. Most importantly, I think she would feel better about herself no matter what the judges have to say. Just a thought...
