Yeah Ring of Fire was very shocking and amazing!!! I was so glad to see that kind of performance style on a usually boring singing competition like Idol! I could not believe the notes that man was hitting and without straining his vocal cords. He has such an amazing voice and performance style that just transcends all musical boundaries. Adam is the BEST MAN!!!! I also adored Whole Lotta Love!!! I'm so glad he got to do that song, the one he wanted to sing on the show! No one dared to sing Led Zeppelin till he knocked that out of the park!!!! Every single performance he gave was mind blowing this entire season, even when he reeled in it like Mad World, Tracks of my Tears, If I Ain't got You, and I guess No Boundaries and One.

RofF was fantasic... gave the audience a taste of something different and unusual, instead of the same ol' cr*p... The only way you move forward is to be exposed to new and different experiences and challenges... the only way to stay young... |

I like Middle Eastern music so I wasn't turned off by the version of ROF that he chose. For instance, I like Bollywood movies! :D I think most Americans don't 'get' Middle Eastern culture and music, so it's not surprising to me that some didn't like it. But I personally LOVED ROF!!! His vocals were impeccable in the live performance. I couldn't believe he was hitting all of those high-note runs so effortlessly towards the end!! It was stunning and gave me chills. He is such a talented performer. If he is singing about fire he is going to make you feel the fire all the way through your TV set, lol. =) That's true talent right there!! I grew up listening to country music and had heard Johnny Cash' version several times before Adam's performance. I think Adam did the right thing by being true to himself and picking an arrangement that matched his personal style. I heard him say in an idolatry interview something like, "What was I supposed to sing, 'Boot Scootin' Boogie'??" lmao I also agree with others that believe Johnny Cash would've probably liked Adam's performance. =) Cash was a rebel... |

ROF was the turning point for me -- the point of no return. I only saw Adam perform twice before that. I didn't watch the auditions or Hollywood weeks. Don't much care for them as a whole. Satisifaction was great. Very sexy. I wanted more. Black or White really hit it. I knew he was someone to watch. Then ROF -- I come from a household that loved Country Music. Not me in particular, I love Rock! But it was played alot at home. Very familiar with Cash's ROF. When Adam came on stage in the glam outfit and sexy hair, I was curious. I only saw him perform Rock before. When he started to perform, I watched in awe. I don't know how else to describe it. I sat in shock afterwards. When Kara described her reaction as 'confused but happy', that was me. I replayed it immediately after the show. Wow! He nailed his rendition. He was hypnotizing. Something about the passion in the way he sang, the way he was dressed, the way he drew his hand over his body and lifted his shirt. The fire in the background, the camera moving around him. The whole thing was a complete performance along with immaculate vocals. I've been in love with his singing ever since. After that performance, I really had to see him every week. I had to know what he would perform, how he would 'twist it up'. And he never let me down. This is the downside though. Now I miss that anticipation, the excitement of his performances. I wish the tour was just him. Wow, thanks for letting me ramble on. I could go on and on about that one amazing performance that felt life changing.
