Just got back from the Milwaukee concert..

Hi everyone:

Just got back from the concert and it was amazing!!!  Danny was fabulous.  For those who were wondering if he mentioned anything about signing with a record company, he did not.  Obviously, the crowd went ballistic when he came on.  I hope to post some pictures sometime this weekend..

If anyone has any questions, I would be happy to answer them.  Here are some of my observations -

I was pleasantly surprised with Michael Sarver -- he was much better than I thought he was going to be.  He chose two really good songs to sing--I'm in love with a girl (G. Degraw) and Closer (Ne-yo)

I was also pleasantly surprised with Matt - while I wasn't a fan of his during the season, he is quite the entertainer and he can really play the piano.  One of my favorite parts of the concert was when he and Scott did a piano duet.

Anoop is much thinner in person than he was on the show- lol

Lil Rounds did a great version of Single Ladies - she really got the crowd going for the night

Scott is just a sweet man - he really enjoys being on the stage.....good for him

Megan is just not very good.....enough said

Allison did a good version of So What by Pink - not crazy about Barricuda

Adam is just so theatrical - he got the best "special effects" on stage - the crowd went crazy for him too - While I'm not really a fan, he knows how to work an audience. I felt he didn't sound as good as he did on tv.

I would not want to follow Adam - Not to take anything away from Kris Allen but after Danny and Adam, everything else was anticlimatic.    Kris Allen is a good singer, not a great singer and I'll be honest with you, I don't know how he ever won.

Now, back to Danny -

Danny has the best VOICE of any of them, hands down.  If it is true that he will be making a country cd, I can see him doing very well.  He wore a really cool military style jacket.  He talked about his foundation and the fact that they haven't found a building for it yet.  He talked about how he just gave those three scholarships out and how he really wants to help people - that is what he is all about.  And his message of never giving up your dream was inspirational.  The crowd did chant his name after he left the stage - I was hoping for an encore because of Milw being his home town but that didn't happen.

I'm sure Danny's hometown gave him a great heartful response, and he likewise.  Thanks for posting your review and looking forward to seeing some photos from you.

Wow, you are quick on the draw!  I just got home and your review is all written up!  I will wait until I can get my pictures downloaded and hopefully figure out how to get a new avi (yes I obtained a cheek to cheek pic w/Danny! and let me tell you, he is everything that has been said-so much more stunning in person).

As a short review, can say Milwaukee was a good audience for everyone; obviously Danny had the loudest/longest applause- it was difficult to say who out of Kris, Adam and Matt (the crowd really went nuts for Matt-it actually may have been him) was next.  Definitely agree with op; Matt was sooo good, and Scott and Michael impressed more than I thought.  Allison kinda shouted her songs, but I loved Cry Baby; she also knows how to work a stage.  Adam can definitely work the stage also, but I agree; he sounded better on TV, his voice almost sounded like a woman's voice-liked Mad World the best.

Disagree with Foolish Heart about Kris- I was prepared to be bored after some of the reviews I read, but I think its just the type of artist he is, and I thought he was great; and the Milw. audience seemed to like him as much as Adam (altho there are always the stray teenyboppers squealing for Adam throughoutSealed)

Well, here I've gone and pretty much written up my review, lol.  Had a great time meeting GokeyGang from all over the country- went to dinner at Danny's fav. Puerto Rican restaurant and to his church last night with 14 others (people I've never met before but had a great time with).  They flew in from LA, Georgia, PA, Michigan, Alabama.  Met about 8 more Danny fans from the i heart site today and thanks to them calling me out of the restaurant I ran back to meet Danny!  He was sooo busy with press that he only came out for a short time at 2:30, but then returned alone at 5:30 to autograph/take pics.  Everyone came out before except Lil, Adam and Kris.  It was raining after and I already got my Danny pic so I didn't stay after.

Thanks for the review.  We are going next Friday to the Madison show.  Can't wait to see Danny as well.  We saw him in July at my husbands annual meeting for Northwestern Mutual.  He was amazing.  I was about 15 feet away from the stage.  Unfortunately our seats for next Friday are no where near as close.   So is it worth staying after Danny's performance?

Yeah, make sure and represent in Madison!  I know the love for him can't be like Milwaukee, but you Madison concertgoers have to make it close!

Re staying after Danny's set:

I met him before so didn't leave early to try and meet him, which was a good choice since it was pouring rain after!!  I honestly didn't see anyone leave early at the Milwaukee concert, altho I'm sure they did.  You saw my review re Adam and Kris; I wouldn't have wanted to miss Kris; he was very good and finale number was fun. I really didn't want to miss any of it!  Never took a bathroom break, lol. But if you realllllly want to meet Danny and don't want to camp out in the afternoon (which was fun for me!) you should leave early to get a spot.

We were at the Milwaukee concert last night....amazing!!!!  What more can we say!  Anyway...we stayed outside after the concert...when the rain stopped.  We were there until about midnight.  All of the idols except Anoop came out and signed autographes, took pictures and spoke with all of us.  We got some awesome shots.  Adam, Lil, Megan, Kris and Matt even gave hugs to my daughter!  By the way...she said that Matt smelled...GREAT!!!!  I will quote her by saying..."This was the best night of my life!"  I cannot say enough about Danny....Not only an extraordinary singer but a true inspiration.  He spoke to all of our hearts!  The audiance went CRAZY!  I hope he does make a country cd.  We were pleasantly surprised about Matt....he is great!  I will post more..and add some pictures!  Milwaukee will forever be Milgokey to us now!!!!Laughing  DANNY....YOU ARE OUR HOMETOWN HERO!  (We hope you get your building!)

Thanks for sharing, all who went to the concert! I can't wait for pictures. I am so glad that Danny finally got his turn of receiving some of the most and loudest applauses and cheers.

Only a few more tour dates left in the "A New Hallelujah" tour left with Phil and Michael!

Congrats to Jason and Mandy on their engagement!

Love Danny's "It's Only" and "Best Days!"

I had the chance to go to the hometown concert, and all I can say is the crowd went absolutely INSANE over Danny.  We couldn't get enough of him.  Everybody was just so supportive and really showed their love for our hometown hero.  I am still, to this moment, shocked that Danny is not signed yet.  He has amazing vocal skills and has the ability to connect with the audience.  He made me very emotional when he sang My Wish by Rascal Flatts.  Danny is one very talented man and I am very proud to say that he comes from my state.  This is a concert that I will never forget, and I am sure that the people who went to this concert will agree with me when I say that Mil-Gokey absolutely ADORED Danny and are VERY proud of him.
