For once, they should have a special edition where the judges sing and the contestants judge. |

I'm sorry but a lot of you are soming off as really whiny and more unprofessional then the judges who were rude to you. I said a while ago on this thread that I had auditioned twice, never gotten through round 1 but never has had one complaint with the process as both times were really fun for me. If you leave the venue pissed to all hell and say that the judges were mean to you I believe you but if you cannot handle the fact the 2 people were mean to you about your singing and what not then you are trying to break into the wrong business. It's going to be more NO then YES especially for television. These people don't care about you, they can fill your spot with someone else just as fast. you are playng by their rules and it's just that simple. I know how much it sucks to get a NO and I know how much it sucks to walk up to a table with 1 (yeah just 1) producer and have her stare at me and still tell me and the rest of the line NO. I know how much that sucks and how much it costs but at the same time there are no guarantees in life and the worst thing is a sore loser. I am going back next year remembering that some of the most talented singers get told No and even Jordin Sparks got told No her first time auditioning in Season 6. If you can't handle 1 NO without flying off the handle how do you plan to deal with Simon's criticisms and America's if you ever make it through. The judges aren't just looking for talent and look, they wanna see personality and poise under pressure as well. Someone who looks confident and doesn't look like they are about to buckle under the pressure. Maybe you just really aren't ready yet. Give yourself some time and grow a pair. You are respondsible for your own audition and frankly at the end of the day i blame myself and not the judges for my lack of golden ticket. you have to walk up there and not give them any reason to say No to you. So next time, be confident, know you are the best and sing your ass off and if they say NO just keep coming back stronger and stronger and view each NO as a chance to grow. |

I know I'm a little late getting into this discussion but after reading it I had to contribute. I grew up singing and dancing. I have been to tons of auditions in all different venues and AI auditions sound exactly the same but on a much larger scale. My daughter wanted to audition for AI and she has a lovely voice but I said, "If you want to, you will wait until you are old enough to do it without my permission." It is cut throat. It is real world. It doesn't sound like anyone was all that rude, but definitely indifferent. I have experienced rude, and my parents always told me to be tough and suck it up. Sometimes it really hurt too, more than they knew. As a parent it is my job to nurture and shelter my kids and to encourage them and make them feel good about themselves. That is NOT the job of AI judges or producers. It is their job to find people who will make them money. Period. It's tough, even brutal sometimes in the entertainment business but if you can't take the heat, you made the right choice; Don't try again. |
