I'm from Jersey and thankfully the last 2 years I have had somewhere to go (Jersey Season 8 and Boston Season 9) but I hate that every year California gets 2 cities and the whole east coast gets like one or maybe two but way to far to travel too... I am willing to make the trip but its tedious... i would love a Boston or maybe slightly farther North with a DC,MD,VA audition city... Richmond or Baltimore would be great choices |

I agree; I'm in Vegas, but I still think that the east should get some more attention. I am really tired of California getting at least 2 every year (as IdolReady said). Idol needs to change up the audition cities and go to different and new ones. I think that their decision to Puerto Rico was a great choice; much more diversity and it was very convenient for the people residing there. They should go back to Hawaii again, I remember them finding a lot of talent in Season 6 in Seattle, and Las Vegas needs another chance! They found Taylor Hicks here (even though he was from New Orleans).

Idol held auditions in DC for Season 4. They found Constantine and Anwar here (neither of whom are from this area). I have been wanting them to come back here ever since. I'm too old to audition, but it was exciting to "gawk", and I even got into the auditions courtesy of a nice young man who was auditioning whom I met while the contestants were waiting outside the venue. He brought me in as his guest, and I posed as his "aunt". But despite being right there in the middle of everything, I did not fulfill my dream, which was to at least get a glimpse of Simon in person. Security was extremely tight in light of the Houston water incident the previous season, and they seemed to be keeping the contestants and family members at a safe distance from the judges (Contestants were instructed frequently not to approach the judges in the audition room). That tight security appears to have been lifted as of Season 5, when the judges once again came into the holding room to brief the contestants (they didn't even do that during Season 4), and contestants were free to approach them again, so I want another chance to hang out at local auditions and maybe even get to MEET Simon.
Simon is the show; everyone else is just the supporting cast.
