I have a 10 yr old boy with Asperger's and OCD. You have inspired him and lead him to believe that he is not a misfit. He says "he uses the special gifts that God gave people like us". My son was very touched by your story. He too has an alcoholic dad that left a year ago. I was touched by it as well. That despite a difficult childhood you grew to be a driven young man set out to accomplish great things.... and you will! (Props to your Mom and family) Hold tight to your beliefs and stay strong!

I can not believe James is gone from the contest. I will not be watching the remaining episodes. I haven't voted since the Clay Aiken debacle and I can not believe American Idol fooled me into voting again. I voted for two hours straight and then this. I hope James has an album out soon, because I am going to miss his music.

Sadly, James was not good enough...christian!! Once again the clean good looking christians boys / girls get the votes. It may not be an indication in the early rounds but when it's down to the wire you'd better display a cross and write things including god and jesus in your favorite quotes and you'll get yourself few more million votes. This was such a bummer. Same thing happened with Daughtrey. I'm a big Adam Lambert fan but I was dissappointed that his music after the show was nothing like what he performed while on the show. One thing that I feel with you is that you aren't just awesome, you've shown us the true artist you will be. Good luck James, I'll be looking for news about you.

James Durbin is an inspiration! James you brought my family together every single week and we would all gather around to watch you perform. My 6yr old drew a picture of himself singing "Saturday night" on American Idol because he has been so inspired by you! My 4yr old daughter just says "I love James"! My 86yr old Memere says to tell you she loves you! I believe that God only takes things away from us because he has something better to give, so I'll be looking forward to see his plan for you. You are amazing and it was beautiful to see the love you and Heather have for one another, your family is beautiful. Keep God first, family second and the rest will fall into place and stay humble, it's a beautiful thing. Don't let this world get in your head, stay grounded! God Bless!

This was the shock of shocks to see you go last night. My music preference is jazz and hip hop. What you brought to the Idol stage has converted me and I'll certainly be buying your records! You took Idol to a whole new level and have an amazing career ahead of you. Look at what Daughtry has achieved and you'll surpass him no doubt about it!

I think the judges have learned a lesson in the hard way, they can not be so nice to everybody, as a result a talent like Casey was voted off, James was voted off, and Lauren who can not be Idol of anything, is still in the competition, the voting system must be changed.

I am totally disappointed. I feel this is just plain wrong. I feel James was by far the most talented of this whole season. My household picked him to win from the get go. I feel James embodies the whole image of an American Idol. I have not felt anyone else in the competition was even in his league. I felt Casey was the only one to come close. I absolutely love Scotty, but in spite of how much I like him I feel he is more of a one dimensional performer. Which is fine because there is a strong place for him and I am certain he will make it with or without winning Idol. Jennifer Lopez said it best, when she spoke of James, that he has never had a bad performance, and was never in the bottom three. That speaks volume in my eyes about James the performer and the person. I am sorry to say I have very little if any interest in the show anymore. I am at the point that I question if it all isn't even fixed.

It was a surprise to see James go home last night, but he didn't lose, He made his mark and is just starting his career, someone will pick him up in a heart beat...Take this time James to be with your family and regroup because your ride is just about to start, and stick to your heart and your going to go far!!!

James USA made a huge mistake. If Australia were voting you would have won hands down. The entertainer you have grown into is brilliant. I don't recall one week where you messed up. Please come tour in Australia when you can and remember the best person usually doesn't win these shows - take the opportunity and let your wings fly you are a star already!

That's it.....this isn't a music competition...it's a popularity contest! Talent means nothing....Image is everything!......Casey and James should have been the finalists.....2 very talented and gifted musicians/Singers.....but that means nothing....blows my mind!!!!!

I still can't get my head around how 72 million votes came in and James was voted off......definitely not how it should have ended last night.....My only hope is that James will be picked up immediately and his career will be as it should.........God closes one door and opens another.....Have faith James.......you are GREAT....
