She was a victim of her own success. Everyone just figured she was safe. Oh well, she'll be starting her career that much sooner.

What was possibly the best season of Idol yet, just got completely ruined. Not sure I can even finish watching the season. I looked so forward to listening to her sing each week. Pia.. you are MY Idol.

The best female singer for the past 5 years on Idol is going home. That can't be true! Pia suposed to be the next American Idol. Shame on America!

Pia, you are the reason I watched. I've shut down my Tivo. I will get your albums and can't wait to see you on stage in your own tour... NOT the Idol tour!

It just takes the fun out of watching the show when the contestant that should win goes home.

We will NOT watch anymore! I've never felt so ANGRY after watching a TV show! There is something wrong with American Idol if someone like Pia is sent home before the top 3. This was truly the best season until now!!!

She should not have gone home but I will buy her album when it comes out...

Something smells really funny to me! American Idol you need to seriously reconsider your voting methods. All the people voted off so far have been women! This is ridiculous! Pia was by far one of the best on the show. You are going to loose countless fans if it continues like this. The one vote they had to save someone went to save Casey whom we all know is a male. Your asking us all to vote for our favorites and if that is truly happening then I demand a recount! Kelly and Carrie are your top selling Idols am I not correct? This makes NO SENSE. An educated person such as myself would wonder if there is some tinkering going on. Did you see the shock and awe in the faces of Steven, Jennifer and Randy? Are we going to have another male idol because the audience is mainly female?

I am in total disbelief, I mean how on earth such amazing singer with such angelic voice and face could have been eliminated? particularly so early into the competition???? I just cannot comprehend this, she undoubtedly was head and shoulders above the rest of her fellow contestants! I hate to sound so pessimistic and come up with conspiracy theories, but to me it sounds as if she was set up and the voting system was rigged, or else Americans are pure stupid and dumb, or perhaps the jealousy of the teenage female voters who would only fancy cute guys hindered casting their votes for Pia. From day one Pia was my favorite singer and will remain number 1 idol contestant of this season. She on America!!!!

I am sooooo turned off by tonight's outcome that I may quit watching American idol!

BTW, It would be greatly, greatly and greatly smart and wise of America idol to come up with a new rule to use an extra save to brig back Pia as her departure will certainly drop their ratings for sure. I for one will care less to watch this competition starting tonight's disappointing outcome!

Loved your performance and I know that you will be very succesful in the music industry; Probably more than all the other remaining contestants. There's no way in doubt that you shouldve went home. You truelly shoud've been then next American Idol, but it's okay because God has something bigger and better planned for you. Don't give up, Continue on with what you are doing. Love you Pia ?

I can't believe that Pia went home; what a farce!!! This whole show is turning into a joke when you see people like Paul and Casey stay on and talent like Pia goes home. Paul was horrible this week; he can't sing!!! They wasted the save on Casey; the judges really blew it!!!

Pia should have never have went home! she deserved to win the whole thing its def not right! they should have saved the safe for times like this!

this is what happens when the judges aimlessly use a save. casey is just ok compared to pia...and the judges took for granted that she would be voted in and wouldnt need a save...they shouldnt be angry with america...they should be angry with themselves. so much for AI 2011.

To me Pia was the most well-rounded contestant. It is unbelievable that she, to whom the title really belonged, is no longer there. I know I voted for her, but maybe too many fans thought she was a shoe-in and failed to vote in this critical time. The hope remains that as she tours, she will be picked up by a good producer/promoter and take her to where she belongs as an artist. Good job Pia you are incredible!

I am in total shock and in disbelief that pia was sent home. I mean HOW COULD someone so powerful and so good at her singing be sent home. I am honestly in total shock and was in tears immediately when i heard Pia sent home, I So demand a Recount or something to be done and Pia being brought back cause she did not deserve to go home.!

One more thing, What amazes me the most is that for the first time after watching an American idol show I so got curious to get on the net and read what others thought of Pia's early elimination on several different discussion boards, just trying to find out if I was the only shocked and disappointed viewer, and guess what? not surprisingly I was delighted to see that about over 90% of people's comments I have so far read have been extremely dismayed and disappointed by Pia's early exit. Then I am thinking to myself who then voted her off? It seems either a flawed voting system, a rigged voting, or perhaps the idiocy of little girls who can barely read and write, and just cast their votes based on the looks and cuteness of some less-talented guy singers! I am really disappointed,I don't think I will follow American idol anymore!

Pia is all class!!! When she was asked what she would miss most about her time in American Idol and she said all her new friends & the people behind the scenes, that show???s what a class act she is!! I'm not one bit concerned, Pia WILL be huge. I'm just sad like many million others around the world that I won't see her for the remainder of the show. Which reminds me I can't watch American Idol now, having Pia eliminated has sucked the life out of the show. All of a sudden American Idol is boring, plain and irrelevant. God bless you Pia xoxo

I am so upset about the result show tonight. Pia, if you see this, know that you are the best singer of this season. Remember that you don't have to win the competition to have a successful career. I truly believe you have a lot of influential people in your corner. You will be a star, you have the voice.

I definitely blame the judges for her elimination. They prematurely used the save to boost ratings and increase votes not because they wanted to save a "performer". The save is meant for occasions like this. Casey deserved to leave that week. Pia is a powerful, ballad singer and the fact that they kept pushing an up-tempo song just proves how off they were. Stick to your guns, Pia! Can't wait to see the tour!

something is seriously wrong with the vote system, pia should not be eliminated, she was one of the best voices on the show... this thing happened 'cause people have several favorites (2 or 3) and it may be difficult to choose one every week, so, I think is easier to vote for the person that you think should not continue in the competition. This way stefano would be out years ago

this is proof that the voting system they have is not a fair voting system. people can sit and call or text all nite long for one person and for the people who have a large family or friend base and have nothing better to do but sit and dial for 24 hrs straight. they can tip the vote to a false winner of sorts. idol needs to have a system where when u call or text it registers somehow and u cannot call again til the next week. making sure each person only votes ONE TIME. make it fair for all the contestants. PIA was the best singer on the show this year and she should NOT BE GOING HOME.. same thing happened last 2 yrs with the winners. the ones who "won" were not the ones most of america wanted. they just had a bigger crowd to call in for them. its becoming a joke that is not funny at all. I may stop watching now

Pia was the best singer they have had on this show ever. To lose her is a travesty. Judges need some say.

I hope David Foster is on the phone with Pia tonight and that she has not contractually tied herself to Idol producers for a couple years which may be the case. Their flawed voting formula has failed her mightily.

The producers have allowed the show to become a teeny-bopper popularity contest based upon who acts cute and can prance the stage and/or a contest with subtle religious and cultural implications, notwithstanding real vocal talent. The ability to form teams to tie up the phones and vote multiple times is a KEY issue and flaw that better be stopped soon or the show could be in trouble! Use the internet and allow one vote per person.

Also, why not require contestants to sing at least one ballad, mid tempo and uptempo two times during the whole show process, so we are forced to hear how they handle the three. Moreover the 3 judges who obviously worked many extra hours to bring a top notch group of kids to the stage had no way to save Pia TONIGHT. There are flaws in the process. It started to reach a head last year when Kris the Christian beat Adam the gay man. Voting multiple times is ridiculous and unfair. Why not force voters to use only the internet like the polling politicians do so that IP addresses and cookies can stop the multiple voting teams that pit Christians against gays, country against pop or urban, cute/outgoing vs. more introspective yet talented, etc. This might be the straw that broke the camel's back. Producer Simon Lythgoe and Ryan Seacrest should also have a new save system where both the public AND the judges can rectify obvious irregularities involving phone tie-ups, voting multiple times with little girls voting for cute guys against talented female singers voted off.

The judges are all big time pros under big contracts who worked very hard to get such a great group; but perhaps they allowed the producers to maintain too much control over flaws in the voting process mentioned above. I will not watch again this year. Why? VOTE FRAUD!

So disgusted. I will never watch too the rest of the season! I hope this will a wake up call to the American idol committee. that not to rely on VOTE alone. Whats the use of having set of judges if they cant decide who to save or be voted out..

I do not understand all the hoopla about Pia getting the boot. This is a competition, it's not the high school play. This is serious business, and it's for those who have the perseverance, determination and drive to make it in this business.

I could not believe the way Randy Jackson acted when Pia got voted off the show. Randy Jackson is a Twenty-year music industry veteran and Grammy Award-winning producer. He should act like it!

If he was so upset about Pia being voted off the show he should just sign Pia to a contract. Bet that doesn't happen. But don't give me this facial expression and act like this woman was just shot. She was lucky to have the opportunity she had, and in many ways still has.

This is why I miss Simon, he may have said things in an abrupt way but at least he was professional and honest.
These judges Steven Tyler and especially J-Lo are rubber stamping goofs. They may be artists in their own right, but that doesn't mean they are able to critique others.
Randy Jackson is the only one on that panel that is halfway honest and who knows this business.

These last eleven contestants, will go on tour and they will be paid very well to do it, weather they are voted off the show or not. So lets not act like someone is being robbed here. These people came there with nothing and were unknown, they now have a little money and millions know them! They are all very fortunate to be where they are, they have nothing to say but thank you, thank you, and thank you ...

I was just saying the same thing about the voting system. Why does somebody need to vote 50 times. There should be one vote allowed per person. It is true that it is all these teenage girls with the time to vote 50 times. And they are not voting for who's best. The rest of us don't have time to sit and do that 50 times. I just knew she was going to be in the top 3, and I knew there was a very good chance she could win it all. I am just in shock. They definitely need to do something about the voting. I just kow she is going to make it anyway, but she deserved to stay in the competition.

I voted, america voted and that's that. Pia might have been a good singer but she wasn't my american idol. She sang to many ballads and look stiff and uncomfortable last night. She was in the bottom because she deserved the bottom. Jacob as well with comments like this weeks....america voted!

WOW...Just purchased the Baseball Package from DirectTV, no more American Idol for me. I'm a 58 year old man and I cried my eyes out over Pia. When the best gets voted off with 9 weeks to go, nothing else to do. One person, one vote or each person should be allowed to vote for their top 3. Seems like the youngest, cutest boys are starting to get all the votes. Oh well, baseball here I come. Goodbye Idol.

I was so sad to see the results and have to watch such a great singer, who I personally feel deserved to be American Idol 2011 be sent home. I know many people feel the same way I do and I hope that American Idol will look into this to make sure no mistake could have taken place. I did vote, and I really do hope that Pia will be back on the show next week because of some kind of malfunction on the voting part.

People just need to vote. Everyone, including me, always think that someone with her obvious talent would be safe because everyone would vote for her. What we did was let her down. There was no malfunction! Why do people want to blame other things instead of themselves? Trust me, all the teeny boopers did their job voting for their favorites, and they are able to see their favorites next week. Go ahead, don't watch the show anymore. What good would that do? What are you proving? Are you taking a stand for the injustice for all the people who sit on their ass who didn't vote? Who will notice your grand stand? No one! Just start voting and don't hurt another talent. We should have already learned this lesson from Casey's dismissel. A person in a glass house shouldn't throw stones!

a talent like Pia doesn't need to become the american idol to reach her full potential as a star, which without the tiniest doubt, she absolutely will become. bottom line is, the judges are weak, america has no idea what real talent is, and I MISS SIMON!!!

I couldn't be more happy to see Pia get voted off. She can sing, but America doesn't want another Celine Dion and that's all she can do - ballads. They coached her over and over again and told her to do more, but she coudn't. She stuck to the safe side. Now I am the first to admit, I didn't think she would take the ultimate prize, but I didn't expect her to be voted off this early. Clearly Jacob should be gone by now. In any event the remaining few are great so it all comes to down to US voting for our favorite. I think Pia was too high on herself and I think the judges can't say anything negative about anyone. They need to be more critical of those who deserve it. Bye Bye Pia and good luck. I bet all we see on the tour is her singing - you guessed it - ballads.

I am SO am done with AMERICAN IDOL this season!! There is NO WAY Pia should have been eliminated!! I boycotted the show the year Dauthery got bounced, look where he is now. Know it won't happen, but what would they do if ALL of the contestants decided they would not continue without her? Or the judges? Viewership is going to drop.

It's a shame to see Pia go. She should have lasted much much longer. It's a tough choice to make this season but
Pia should not have been gone this soon if at all. She's a lovely talented lady. For this reason, she'll go far in
the industry if she doesn't give up. Stick with it Pia. You can accomplish much. There are people who appreciate
good music, a lovely voice, beautiful presence and talent. I believe there are more of the younger generation voting,
therefore, many who appreciate the real deal, don't vote or maybe at late meetings. GO ALL THE WAY YOUNG LADY.

Its the judges fault. They need to start being honest with the contestants. The bottom three have not grown since they have been on the show. I knew they all three weren't going to make it. If they were on the radio I would turn the channel. Lauren is getting boring also. It's a shame because these people have cdould voices, just not being told how to improve by the judges. WE NEED SIMON BACK.
