American Idol is breathing new life since Cowell left. Steven Tyler has pretty much made everyone forget about the syrupy pop diva, Cowell, as Tyler knows 20 times more about all varieties of music than does Cowell. A comparative look at the TV ratings for Idol and The XFactor USA will show why Idol has actually flourished after Cowell left the show. Contrary to your belief, Idol is not on "life support". The ratings reflect it is doing quite well.

There were several singing talents involved on the American Idol casting! I am soooooo convinced that this year,the judges were not focused and a bit over marketing THEMSELVES! I have watched for many years! RANDY Has totally sold out to the show! HE NEED TO WATCH HIS BACK! Just saying!

Your show is on life support, and it is not because Simon left. The new judges are okay. Hollywood week takes three weeks and seems like three months. Each segment is ultimately shown about six times. I know you have to have commercials, but you are still stretching on hour's worth of entertainment into two hours. The segment with the judges revealing the top 24 is cruel to the contestants and disrespectful to the viewer. The false suspense is getting really old. Thank God for DVR. I can watch the show in one-fourth the time.

i saw that this season, AI has made lots of good story to watch thru. They not just having singing contest, but they build well friendships with each others and watching the team some of them left and failed to get thru, they cried and sad, make me also feel sad and touch, at same time happy seeing other got to top 24, actually this season there are lots of good and potential singers, for sure judges have had made hard decision to must let off some of them..I truly love watching heejun & phil phillips. well...almost all of them show their well attitude and respect too :) good luck to all of them top 24 and the fans too happy watching AMERICAN IDOL S.11 :):)

I've tried watching the few segments that have been on TV---judges are terrible and soooo self centered! Probable won't be watching this year again! Only saw the last show last year---just isn't the same show it used to be and usually not very good! Big disappointment!

I understand why they bring the last contestents up like they do, but it's so not fair to the one that goes through. They don't get to celebrate like they should be able to when someone standing next to them is getting sent home and it's often someone they have made friends with. Unfortunately, I don't know how else they would do it....I just wish there was a little more joy for the 12th contestent that gets through.

Noone named Phillip Phillips should EVER be famous...that said, he is good. I liked the young Asian girl, forget her name though.
